Our Chapel

“The first Wesleyan Methodist chapel was built in Bakehouse Lane in the early 1820s. It was replaced by the West Street chapel, which opened officially on the 8th October 1878” The chapel seats 200 people and has a modern schoolroom attached for village activities as well as a wild garden to enjoy. We have upgraded and improved our chapel to make better use of the building in more recent times.

Welcome to our church

Curious about God? Looking for purpose?

Want to get out of the house? Enjoy singing and meeting new people? Then try Timberland Chapel:

We sing hymns, pray for others, thank God for Blessings, listen to Bible readings, and enjoy a variety of preachers who come to us each Sunday.

Jesus Christ is our role model, and we strive to follow His way. We have a mixture of formal and informal services and love to sing hymns! We are friendly and try to help one another with faith and fellowship. We also love to share cake and biscuits too.

Did you know that Timberland Chapel is a supporter of Traidcraft products? What's that? As the trading arm of Transform Trade, Traidcraft sells a small and impactful range of products. The focus, as always, is on how we can support producers who are creating innovative, transformative products that lead to sustainable income for communities around the world. The profits go to supporting producers around the world.

Join us each month on the 1st Tuesday of the month for 'Soup & Sweet'. Enjoy a tasty lunch for a small donation, good company and the chance to meet new members of the community. We are open to all and start at 12 pm. Please speak to a steward or Sue Hayward to book your place:

This year saw the launch of our monthly craft workshops. Thanks to the Co-op Community Fund, we can deliver subsidised craft sessions to the community. Offering a wide variety of different crafts each month, we hope you can find something you love. Please contact Jane Ball or email Claire Watson below to book a place. Booking is essential, please.
